Who is Lieutenant Reginald Barclay?

I named my blog URL after a fictional character played by Dwight Schultz in the sci-fi series 'Star Trek Voyager' and 'The Next Generation'.

Lieutenant Barclay is a remarkably inspiring figure -- intellectually brilliant, enthusiastic, sincere and more imaginative than any other crew member.

His problem -- His anxious and nervous disposition around other people, a behavior similar to 'avoid-ant personality disorder'.

Described as a 'Holo addict', he had an excessive interest in fantasy, serving as a substitute and escape from personal interaction.

Because of this, his abilities were often underestimated and his imaginative ideas were always put down. On the episode 'Pathfinder', he discovered a radical new method to establish two-way communication with Voyager (Starship at the other end of the galaxy) through a subspace wormhole.

His boss refused to back this idea and he consequently defies direct orders, breaks into the laboratory and successfully establishes contact with Voyager.

Technically brilliant, courageous and socially awkward. I selected him because he reminds me of a bit of myself. And In my view, he is testament of the great things we can accomplish in-spite of our shortcomings.

Dismayed by Modern Music

Growing disillusioned with modern music, I created a YouTube channel as a one-stop location for truly beautiful music. It is mainly in the genres of Jazz, Classical, Waltz and Romance.

A link and sample of my music compilation video below:

In Addition, as I was compiling these videos, I came across some exquisite paintings and artist.
My three personal favorites are  'Fabian Perez', 'Rob Hefferan' and 'Daniel Del Orfano'. I've pasted a few samples of their paintings below:
