This 'climate of sensitivity', the growing desire to be political correct, the
removal of vocabulary to 'fit in with the times' stifles ideas and
creates new taboo's.
However, it's
slightly comforting that the pendulum is beginning to swing against PC
behaviour, PC is now becoming a pejorative term. Whereas displays of political
incorrectness are increasingly been seen as a badge of honour, example: A
popular American Comedian 'Bill Mahers', who regularly displays PC incorrect
views. A welcome trend, I hope it continues.
I passionately believe in more open and reasoned debate on controversial topics like immigration and religion etc. Nobody has the right not to be offended, to create a utopian world where everybody's sensitivities are accommodated to is both impossible and undesirable.

It would be
a breath of fresh air to see a non-conformist, an individual with the conviction
to challenge the status quo and yes actually
'offend' people.
